Folded hand towels

Folded hand towels are designed for wall-mounted dispensers that release one sheet at a time. The most common formats are Z-fold, C-fold, and V-fold, each fitting a different dispenser type. Folded hand towels: hygienic hand drying in every facility

Folded hand towels are a hygienic solution for drying hands in washrooms, kitchens, healthcare facilities, and production areas. Each sheet is used once and discarded — meaning bacteria are not passed to the next user. Hand towels are an essential part of the hygiene paper category.

Fold types

The fold style determines which dispenser the towel fits and how much paper a user pulls at once.

  • ZZ (Zig-Zag) fold. the most common. Each towel is dispensed individually, and the next one pops up automatically. Economical , consumption is lower than with roll towels
  • V fold. similar to ZZ but the towel is smaller and more compact. Suits smaller dispensers
  • C fold. often used in US-style dispensers, less common in Europe
  • Interfold (W) fold. premium class with a larger, softer sheet

Ply and quality

Single-ply towels are the cheapest option for high-traffic washrooms , office buildings, shopping centres, factories. Two-ply towels absorb better and feel softer , suitable for hotels, restaurants, and medical facilities. Three-ply towels are premium, used where comfort and image matter.

Manufacturers like Katrin, Tork, and Papernet offer towels with textured embossing that improves absorbency and reduces paper consumption per use.

Dispensers for hand towels

Paper hand towel dispensers control consumption and protect the paper from moisture and dirt. Enclosed dispensers are more hygienic than open shelves because the paper remains untouched until the moment of use.

Folded towels vs roll towels

Folded towels work better in high-traffic washrooms where speed and hygiene are priorities. Paper towel rolls are more often chosen for kitchens and laboratories. Both options are more cost-effective than fabric towels, and far superior in terms of hygiene.
